The Incheon District Prosecutors' Office announced that they arrested and charged Lee Eun-hae and Jo Hyeon-soo, the suspects in the Valley Murder Case, on charges of murder and attempted murder.

It has been two years and 11 months since Lee's husband, Mo Yoon, died in the Yongso Valley in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do.

Lee and Cho are accused of killing Yun, who could not swim, by making him jump into the valley water in June 2019.

In February and May of the same year, the prosecution also applied charges of feeding Yun with food mixed with blowfish blood or of attempting to kill him by drowning him in a fishing spot.

Prosecutors concluded that they planned the crime for 800 million won in life insurance in Yoon's name.

According to the prosecution, Mr. Lee engaged in so-called 'gaslighting' in the process of extracting economic benefits from Mr. Yoon and isolating him from those around him.

As a result of the prosecution's investigation, it was found that they had considered strategic responses, such as planning to escape until the chief prosecutor's personnel change and writing a press conference criticizing the investigative prosecutor in advance.

At the end of last month, the prosecution arrested two men in their 30s on charges of helping them escape, and the investigation is continuing against two other assistants.

Prosecutors paid funeral expenses and living expenses for the victim's family, and filed a lawsuit to confirm the nullity of the adoption of Lee's daughter, who was adopted as Yoon's adopted son.
