The bodies of three babies were found on Tuesday in the cellar of a house in Ville-d'Avray, in the Hauts-de-Seine department in the Paris suburbs, said the Nanterre prosecutor's office, contacted by AFP.

An investigation was opened for research into the causes of death, said the prosecution.

Three bodies of babies were found in a cellar.

An investigation has been opened to determine the causes of their death, the Nanterre prosecutor's office told AFP.

The forensic pathologist will have to determine in particular whether it is precisely a question of fetuses or babies, and for how long they were in this cellar.

According to a source familiar with the matter, it seems that the pavilion is that of a "person who has been deceased for several years".
