An illegal resident who assaulted a middle school girl on the way home from school in broad daylight has been arrested by the police.

A background check revealed that the man with a criminal record of assault was wanted.

The Seoul Mapo Police Station announced on the 2nd that it had recently indicted a 35-year-old Hungarian illegal immigrant with the prosecution on charges of assault and other charges.

According to the police, Mr. A is charged with kicking an important part of Miss B, a middle school student, while returning home with a friend near an apartment complex in Mapo-gu, Seoul around 5:50 pm on the 6th of last month.

At the time of the incident, it was determined that A laughed at B and then suddenly approached and assaulted her.

The police, who received the report of Miss B, identified Mr. A as the suspect by tracking it based on CCTV images near the incident location.

The police judged that there is a risk of escape because Mr. A does not have a job or a cell phone, and issued an arrest warrant on the 19th of last month and arrested him at his residence, Gositel.

As a result of the background check by the police, it was confirmed that Mr. A had stayed in Korea as an illegal resident for about 4 years as the period of stay had expired in 2018.

He was also wanted because he had a previous conviction for assault and did not pay a fine.

During the police investigation, Mr. A stated, "Young people usually see me as a foreigner and say harsh words to me."

Ms. B is currently resting after treatment at the hospital.

A police official said, "After confirming the wanted request, we handed over Mr. A to the prosecution." "We plan to hand over the recruit to the immigration office and take measures to forcibly leave the country."
