Pranksters have hijacked the QR codes appearing on the panels present on the hiking trails in Saint-Brieuc (Côtes-d'Armor) and its surroundings.

Once scanned with a smartphone, the symbols indeed direct users to a porn site.

The manipulation was spotted on Thursday and relayed on social networks.

Created in 2014, the QR codes for the Baie de Saint-Brieuc Agglo hike obviously had another reason for being,

They were designed to refer "to a mobile website that no longer exists," said the source.

It was then enough for the pirates to use this old domain name.

The hijacking was all the more shocking as one of the panels in question is located in front of a school.
