A man walks through a crowded crowd and exits a subway ticket gate.

Another man quickly chases after him.

The man falls down shortly after, and is subdued by the man following him.

On the 21st of last month, on the way to work, a man in his 40s, who was habitually pickpocketing on Seoul Subway Line 9, was caught by the police.

He was dressed like an ordinary office worker with a briefcase to avoid suspicion, but only three stolen wallets were found at the time of the arrest.

During busy commute times, I approached the back of passengers with wide-open bags and only took their wallets. Only about 10 times that were revealed, the amount of damage was 3.75 million won.

As a result of the police investigation, Mr. A was already wanted for other theft charges.

Police said they would strengthen crackdowns on subway pickpockets during rush hour.
