The American Professional Baseball (MLB) team played a game in a uniform with the word 'Kimchi' written in Korean for the second year.

The MLB minor league Double A team, Montgomery Biscuits, played on the 29th of last month wearing an orange uniform and hat with the word 'Kimchi' written on it.

This team is a minor league Double-A team under the MLB Tampa Bay Rays and is based in Montgomery, Alabama.

This is an area where interest in Korea is growing as many Korean companies have entered the market with Hyundai Motor's entry into the Alabama manufacturing plant in 2005.

Biscuits lost 4-9 to the Mississippi Braves despite the fighting spirit of 'Kimchi'.

In 2021, the first year of wearing the 'kimchi uniform', this team won 9-8 over the Biloxi Suckers, demonstrating the 'potential of kimchi'.

This team is scheduled to play the second match again on July 8, wearing the kimchi jersey.

The two 'Kimchi Uniform' matches are part of the 'Korean Cultural Heritage Night' event held in partnership with the non-profit organization 'A-KEEP' (Alabama Korea Education and Economic Partner).

The club said that Kimchi uniforms will be auctioned off after the match, and the proceeds will be delivered to A-KEEP.

On the club's website, "food is a good opportunity to experience a new culture," and "just as biscuits are a staple in the south, kimchi is an essential food in Korea."

Mike Murphy, Biscuits' club manager, said on the 1st (local time), "After successfully hosting the 2021 Korean Heritage Night, we will be able to continue to promote Korean culture this year."
