Recently, the Cultural Heritage Administration posted a notice saying that children can enter the palaces and royal tombs for free on Children's Day next month.

It was criticized by public opinion because it contained inappropriate content.

Previously, the Cultural Heritage Administration announced online that up to two guardians can enter for free on Children's Day, such as Deoksugung Palace, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Jongmyo Shrine, when accompanied by children.

However, the section 'excluding foreign children' stands out.

It was pointed out that excluding only foreign children is an act of discrimination.

As the controversy grew, the Cultural Heritage Administration explained that it was a misunderstanding that occurred in the process of writing a summary of the relevant information in the guide.

It means that guardians who bring foreign children have to pay, and foreign children under the age of 6 are free.

The controversy did not go away easily due to the somewhat vague explanation.

In the end, the Cultural Heritage Administration yesterday revised the existing standards, excluding foreign children, saying, 'On Children's Day, all palaces and royal tombs are free admission'.
