Moon Dae-chun, who received the second dose of the Moderna vaccine in October of last year, died the next day.

The autopsy's report suggested that he might have been vaccinated, but the government's causality assessment determined that he died of high blood pressure, an underlying disease.

[Park Eun-sil / Bereaved Family: I was told that people with underlying diseases should get it, so I was right.

According to the government policy, when you become seriously ill and die, why do you pass the responsibility on to the people?]

The Presidential Transition Committee announced that it would pay 50 million won for medical expenses and 100 million won for death compensation for these adverse reactions.

If causality is not recognized, the opportunity for objection will also be increased to two.

However, victims and their families say they have retreated from their presidential promises that the state would bear the full burden of proving causality.

[Kang Yun-hee / Counselor of the Corona Vaccine Victims’ Family Council: According to the roadmap recently released by the Transition Committee, there has been little change in the causal relationship evaluation or compensation for the victims of vaccine side effects.]

Do not place the burden of proving causality on the victim, the attending physician and the epidemiological investigator requested that their opinions be taken into account.

[Kim Doo-kyung/Chairman of Corona Vaccine Victims' Family Council: The attending physician and epidemiological investigator both said that there was a connection with the vaccine, but they dismissed it as insufficient data.

(How could I) provide more evidence than the attending physician...

.]

It also required that the two appeals be considered by different groups of experts.

The Victims' Family Council said that the transition committee should take responsible measures and that it will continue to hold street protests in the future.
