The police, who investigated the allegations of fraud by President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol's mother-in-law Choi Mo three times, came to a conclusion of 'no charges'.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Anti-Corruption and Public Crime Investigation Unit announced today (25th) that it had decided not to send the case last month after re-investigating the case in which Mr. Choi was accused of forgery and fraud at the request of the prosecution.

In the process of purchasing land in Dochon-dong, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do in 2013 with a partner, Choi was accused of forgerying a bankbook balance certificate worth 35 billion won and embezzling stocks received from a title trust to hijack the ossuary business.

The police received the complaint in January 2020 and handed over the case to the prosecution with the opinion of not prosecuting the charges in December of that year.

However, the prosecution requested a supplementary investigation in January of last year, and the police re-examined the case and decided not to appeal again in June of that year.

Then, in October of last year, the complainant raised an objection to the investigation result, and the case was transferred to the prosecution.

It is known that the police, who investigated the second supplementary investigation request by the prosecution, again concluded 'no charges'.
