The prosecution's leadership resigned in protest against the ruling and opposition parties' agreement to handle the arbitration bill proposed by National Assembly Speaker Park Byeong-seok.

Seven people, including Deputy Prosecutor Park Seong-jin, Seoul High Prosecutor's Office Seong-yoon Lee, Suwon High Prosecutor Kim Gwan-jung, Daejeon High Prosecutor's Office Hwan-seop Yeo, Gwangju High Prosecutor Jo Jung-tae, Daegu High Prosecutor's Office Kwon Soon-beom, and Busan High Prosecutor's Office Cho Jae-yeon submitted their resignations to the Ministry of Justice this afternoon.

As all high-ranking prosecutors resigned, an unprecedented vacancy in the leadership took place.

However, in the case of Lee Seong-yoon, the chief of the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office, it is difficult to accept the resignation as it is currently being tried in the case of former Vice Justice Kim Hak-eui's illegal departure ban.
