Two new mutations of the omicron family were also discovered in Korea.

Analysis of these recombination mutations continues, and there are concerns that new mutated viruses will be active in earnest sometime this fall.

This is Cho Dong-chan, a medical reporter.

The omicron recombination mutation XE, first detected in Korea, was found in people in their 20s and 50s, and XM in their 60s.

XE was found in Europe, such as the UK, and XM was found in India, but quarantine authorities are focusing on domestic outbreaks.

Investigation and Analysis Team: Given the current circumstances, it is judged that the possibility of domestic infection and occurrence in Korea is sufficiently high.]

XE, XM, etc. are created, and the more infected there are, the higher the probability of occurrence.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention analyzed that the toxicity of the recombination mutation of Omicron is similar to that of Omicron, and the transmission power is about 10% greater.

A study from Boston University in the United States predicted that omicron is not yet a complete mutation, and will soon transform into a much more contagious mutation with several additional mutations.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention predicts that the new mutations will become active sometime this fall.

] It appears to be, but the vaccine may have to be different as it can evade existing immunity.

The World Vaccine Federation is currently researching a new vaccine that incorporates two or three types of mutations.

Based on the results of international studies, the quarantine authorities are planning to re-create the vaccine policy this fall or winter.
