Prosecutor General Kim Oh-soo resigned in protest against the Democratic Party's proposal of a bill to completely deprive the prosecution of the prosecution's investigative powers, the so-called closure of inspections.

The Supreme Prosecutor's Office started the National High Prosecutors' Conference at 9:30 am on the 18th at the Supreme Prosecutor's Office in Seocho-gu, Seoul.

The participants were all six high prosecutors: Lee Seong-yun, Chief of Seoul High Prosecutors' Office, Kim Gwan-jeong, Chief of Suwon High Prosecutor's Office, Yeo Hwan-seop, Chief of Daejeon High Prosecutor's Office, Jo Jung-tae, Chief of Gwangju High Prosecutor's Office, Kwon Soon-beom, Chief of Daegu High Prosecutor's Office, and Jo Jae-yeon, chief of Busan High Prosecutor's Office.

On the 8th, the high prosecutors' meeting was presided over by President Kim Oh-su, but as President Kim expressed his resignation yesterday, this meeting was led by Park Seong-jin, deputy chief prosecutor, and Ye Se-min, head of the planning and coordination department of the Supreme Prosecutor's Office, also attended.

High Prosecutor Yeo Hwan-seop, who met reporters at the meeting, said, "According to the amendment promoted by the Democratic Party, the prosecution cannot directly investigate a case that has raised an objection or appeal to the prosecution office with dissatisfaction with the police investigation. "I didn't believe the police investigation, so I came to the prosecutor's office, and if I ask the police station to investigate the case again, how many people will obey it?" he asked.

High Prosecutor Jo Jung-tae also criticized, "The proposed bill lacks consideration and reflection on the reasons and roles of the criminal justice system and the people in it, the judicial police, prosecutors and prosecutors that have supported our society for a long time."

He added, "If the bill goes into effect, criminals will sleep with their legs outstretched, but victims will be unable to sleep with tears and sighs," he said.

At today's meeting, the chiefs of high prosecutors are expected to discuss measures to block the passage of the 'examination and shut down' bill, as well as measures to overcome the crisis facing the entire prosecution organization.

High Prosecutor Yeo Hwan-seop replied, "(Today) we plan to discuss the matter as a whole, including that," to the question, 'Are there any plans to express the future of the senior prosecutors?
