An elementary school teacher who filmed and possessed sexual exploitation of young women has been sentenced to prison.

According to the legal community today (18th), the 12th criminal division of the Suwon District Court (Chief Judge Inseong Hwang) sentenced a 30-year-old man accused of violating the Act on the Protection of Children and Adolescents Sexuality, and similar rape of minors to 7 years in prison. It has been ordered to disclose and notify personal information for 5 years, complete an 80-hour sexual violence treatment program, and limit employment at organizations related to children and adolescents for 7 years.

Mr. A, who has been an elementary school teacher since 2012, is accused of instructing female adolescents to film sexual exploitation between 2015 and 2021 and possessing them.

Mr. A sent a message to teenage female adolescents who he knew through SNS, instructing them to film sexual exploitation, and saved it to a personal external hard drive.

A total of 1,910 child and adolescent sexual exploitation materials stored on a personal external hard drive using this method, and about 120 victims were found.

In addition, Mr. A is also charged with similarly sexually assaulting Ms. B (then 13 years old), whom she knew while making sexual exploits in 2020 at a motel.

The court explained, "Mr. A took advantage of the victims' lack of ability to exercise their sexual self-determination and protect themselves, degenerate them into objects of sexual desire, and distort the sound sexual consciousness of the victims."

He pointed out, "The crime in this case is more shocking in that Mr. A is a teacher who teaches elementary school students of the same age as the victims."

However, he explained the reason for the sentencing, saying, "It seems that the sexual exploitation material possessed by the accused has not been separately distributed, and the sentence was decided in consideration of all the conditions of sentencing that appeared in the pleadings, such as confessing to and reflecting on the crime in this case."
