Judge Cha Dong-kyung of the Changwon District Court announced today (17th) that he had sentenced a 29-year-old man A, who was handed over to trial for threatening an incumbent professional soccer player (intimidation, etc.) by saying he would spread the facts of prostitution, and sentenced him to a fine of 7 million won.
In February of last year, Mr. A sent an SNS message to a professional soccer player and threatened to inform the media about the fact that he met his ex-girlfriend and prostituted himself if he did not meet or cooperate.
In March of the same year, I called the Korea Football Association and said, "The soccer player in question was prostituted with my ex-girlfriend, so please check."
However, it was investigated that Mr. A was spreading false information without even checking whether the soccer player and his ex-girlfriend actually engaged in prostitution.
Judge Cha ruled, "Mr. A defamed the victim's reputation by publicly stating false facts."
