Candidate Ho-young Jung for the Minister of Health and Welfare said, "It is not true" regarding media reports that he had announced his intention to resign as a candidate to an acquaintance.

Candidate Ho-Young Jeong texted a Yonhap News reporter asking about her position regarding her decision to resign, and she strongly refuted, saying, "I wonder what's the reason for wanting to resign tenaciously, even with absurd stories."

He emphasized, "I'm curious about what kind of force (wants to resign)," and said, "I will answer all of them through the official channel."

The JoongAng Ilbo reported that candidate Chung expressed his intention to resign to the Presidential Takeover Committee through two phone calls with an acquaintance in Daegu.

According to the report, Candidate Jeong said, "I told the transition committee that I wanted to go down (to Daegu) now, even for the sake of the children," and "But the transition committee said that there was nothing wrong, so let's hold a hearing. It is supposed to be," he said.

He also reported, "I am proud of myself, but my son and daughter are having a hard time. That is the pain as a father of a child. It's hard not to accept the fact as it is, even if you explain and tell the truth," the newspaper reported.

The ministerial candidate's personnel hearing preparation team also issued an urgent statement and officially said, "The media report is false."

The personnel hearing preparation team said, "The candidate has not expressed his intention to resign."

Candidate Chung, who was the former head of Kyungpook National University Hospital, was in a difficult situation ahead of the personnel hearing as suspicions that his children used 'Dad Chance' in the process of transferring to Kyungpook National University medical school moved to the issue of his son's military service physical examination.

The candidate's side explained that it had no effect on the implementation of the special screening that his son took, and that there was no preference for both his daughter and son to have volunteer experiences at Kyungpook National University Hospital.
