Since the first corona patient appeared in Korea two years ago, social distancing has been like a symbol of quarantine.

Business hours and the number of people who can gather at one place changed in as little as two weeks, which led to inconvenience and social chaos.

It also meant that we had to endure social and economic sacrifices for quarantine,

but the government said that if the corona spreads again in the future, we can bring out social distancing again.

In the past two years since the outbreak of Corona, we have gone through more than 40 distance adjustments.

In March 2020, when the first epidemic from Shincheonji was spreading, it started by suspending the operation of entertainment facilities, religious facilities, and indoor sports facilities for a fortnight. It started in the metropolitan area and then expanded to the whole country.

[Cheong Sye-kyun/Prime Minister at the time (December 22, 2020): We will thoroughly block the cycle of infection in our daily life by limiting private gatherings of more than 5 people and greatly strengthening the quarantine rules applied to restaurants.]

After that, 300 confirmed cases It fell to the inside and outside, but it exceeded 1,300 people in the delta mutation epidemic in July of last year, and high-intensity distancing, which limits the number of people to two people after 6 pm, started again.

The delta mutation did not have the same prevention effect as before.

In November of last year, we started a gradual recovery of daily life and increased the number of gatherings a little more, but due to premature easing, the number of confirmed cases increased to 7,000, and the number of people was again raised to 4 and business hours were extended to 9:00 p.m.

The Omicron mutation, which appeared in December of last year, failed.

The quarantine did not keep up with the speed of transmission, and the distance between the self-employed and the self-employed was gradually loosened.

The number of confirmed cases reached the peak of 620,000.

There was not a lot of confusion in adjusting the distance dozens of times.

[Jeong-cheol/Citizen: Every two weeks, every four weeks, it kept changing like this.

I changed this little by little and just did it (there was confusion)]

[Ban Jeong-hyeon/Citizen: Because of social distancing and business hours restrictions, we didn’t find a lot of people, so I’m looking for a job right now, so that was a little inconvenient. I

think.]

The distance is abolished for now, but the government said that if the epidemic spreads, it can be implemented again at any time.
