To commemorate the 8th anniversary of the disaster, commemorative events are held across the country.

In Ansan, Gyeonggi-do, where Danwon High School is located, a memorial eve was held yesterday.

Yesterday evening, the 8th anniversary of the Sewol ferry was held at Ansan Culture Plaza in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do. 



Ansan Culture Plaza is a space where citizens of Ansan held candles for 67 days to pray for the safe return of Danwon High School students at the time of the Sewol ferry disaster in 2014. 



A choir of 300 citizens and actors also held a musical performance to commemorate those who died in the Sewol ferry disaster.



A memorial event was also held in which citizens could directly participate.



Citizens spent time in remembrance by writing what they wanted to write on a yellow ribbon or experiencing glass crafts to make coasters by attaching glass to a ribbon shape.

Today, the 8th anniversary of the Sewol ferry disaster, the 'Remembering Ceremony of the 8th Sewol Ferry Disaster' will be held at Ansan Hwarang Amusement Park from 3pm today. . 



Through today's event, the organizers said they would urge the investigation into the truth of the undisclosed tragedy, punishment of those responsible, and the construction of a safe society.
