Last year, a brutal video of abusing and harassing cats and wild animals went viral on social media.

I thought the work was finished when the police caught the operator and sent it to trial, but a video similar to this has been secretly spreading again recently.

Reporter Min-Jun Kim was the sole reporter.

A plastic bottle is put on the cat's head, an electric shock is applied, and a toy is used to make it breathless.

These are videos of cruelty to animals recently shared in a private Telegram chat room.

It is very similar to the Kakao Talk open chat 'Gore Special Room', which was thought to have been disbanded through a police investigation after the truth was revealed last year.

The informants who managed to confirm the existence of this room said that the participants in the two rooms were virtually identical.

[Informant A: In order to enter the room, you must upload a video of abuse and get permission from the host.

This is called 'scouting', but it is an attempt to prevent the leak of evidence by tying the participants as accomplices...

.]

There are three or more Telegram rooms that have been operated in this way.

Participants will continue to be scouted as they upload brutal videos and can move to the next level of the room.

And at its peak is the hardcore room with the highest level of abuse.

[Informant B: (In the hardcore room) I can't distinguish nicknames, and I can't do anything like video capture or video download.]

The method of abuse has become more brutal and vicious than the gore shop.

[Informant A: Breaking one leg is 'three-wheel drive' and 'two-wheel drive' means breaking two legs.] The

informants recently gathered evidence and reported about 20 participants to the police.

The police recently booked a man in his 20s, Lee Mo, who uploaded the video of the abuse himself.

However, the police have no plans to expand the investigation into chat room participants who share and view videos.

[Cho Hee-kyung/CEO of Animal Freedom Coalition: I know that activities in the Telegram room have been secured to some extent as evidence, but I think that the investigation should be expanded (to the entire chat room), but the job is that the police have no intention of investigating that. I don't think it's Yugi.]
