A man in his 40s who made a homemade explosive and detonated it in a residential area was arrested by the police.

The Busan Dongnae Police Station said that they are investigating and urgently arresting A on charges of rupture of explosives.

Mr. A is suspected of installing an explosive he made in a rubber cone parked on a residential street in Dongnae-gu, Busan at 7:54 pm yesterday (11th) and remotely controlling it to explode.

At that time, a passerby heard a 'pop' and reported it to the police, and no one was injured in the explosion.

Police commandos and military explosives disposal teams identified a radio-actuated homemade explosive at the scene.

The police confirmed a scene in a nearby CCTV where A installed a homemade explosive in a labacon and then exploded it with a remote control near the scene, and urgently arrested A at A's house around 1 am today.

As a result of the police investigation, it was revealed that Mr. A was an unemployed person who majored in biochemistry at university, learned how to make explosives on the Internet, and then bought the related items.

After investigating the specific motive for the crime, the police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for A.
