A group of people who made hundreds of millions of won in unfair profits by selling 'fake diesel' while the price of domestic oil has risen to the ceiling recently has been caught.

Today (12th), the Saha Police Station in Busan announced that it will send a gas station owner in his 40s and two employees to the prosecution on charges of violating the Oil and Petroleum Alternative Fuel Business Act.

Person A and others are accused of taking unfair profits by selling fake diesel at a gas station in Saha-gu, Busan from February to recently.

They obtained relatively cheap kerosene from an oil refinery and mixed it with diesel to make and sell 'fake diesel'.

They sell about 20,000 liters of fake diesel alone a day.

However, their large-scale crimes were quickly overshadowed.

This is because they were caught by the Korea National Petroleum Administration.

As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that they made and sold fake diesel in order to profit from the market price of expensive diesel and cheap kerosene as domestic oil prices continued to rise due to a surge in international oil prices.

They sold 390,000 liters in one month, and it turned out that they earned hundreds of millions of won.

In response, the police sent Mr. A to the prosecution and requested administrative measures such as imposing a fine for negligence and suspension of business at the competent ward office.

An official from the Korea National Oil Management Agency said, "If you refuel a vehicle with fake diesel mixed with kerosene, the engine or fuel system may malfunction, causing the vehicle to stop while driving, which may lead to a major accident."

This is a 'news pick'.
