Prosecutor General Oh-soo Kim, risking his position, has announced that he will block the so-called 'examination and overhaul' bill, which is completely deprived of the prosecution's investigative powers promoted by the Democratic Party of Korea.



At the National Prosecutor's Office meeting held at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office today (11th), President Kim said, "If the prosecution's investigation function is abolished, there is no meaning in carrying out my duties as the Prosecutor General. I will not give up,” he said.



President Kim said, "Before the criminal justice system, which has been in force for just over a year, has not been properly established, the discussion to completely abolish the prosecution's investigation function is becoming visible. can't find it," he said.



He continued, "If the prosecution fails to investigate, criminals are not punished, victims' suffering increases, and responses to serious crimes such as corruption, corporate, economic, and election crimes are incapacitated. I can't," he said.



President Kim said, "As the Vice Minister of Justice at the time of the introduction of the new system, I felt a sense of responsibility, and while operating the prosecution service centered on the people, I have tried to settle the system and alleviate the inconveniences of the people."



He also said, "Changing the criminal justice process overnight causes extreme confusion.



President Kim added, "The current situation will be very frustrating for the members of our prosecutor's office who have been faithfully performing their duties.



The meeting will be held face-to-face with 18 prosecutors from all over the country, President Kim, Deputy Chief Prosecutor Park Seong-jin, and Director of Planning and Coordination Ye Se-min in attendance.



At the meeting, the chief prosecutors are expected to reiterate their opposition to the 'Complete Inspection' bill and focus on preparing countermeasures to prevent the passage of the bill.
