Yesterday (10th), the Forest Service issued a 'third stage of the forest fire' in response to the forest fire that started in Hwabuk-ri, Samguk Yusa-myeon, Gunwi-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do.



The forestry authorities raised the mobilization order to 'level 3 forest fires' at 3:50 pm, saying that as the wind became stronger in the afternoon, the evolutionary phase changed to a spreading phase.



The third stage of a forest fire is issued when the estimated area of ​​damage is less than 100 to 3,000 ha, a strong wind of 11 m/s or more blows, and the extinguishing time is expected to be less than 24 to 48 hours.



Currently, the extinguishing rate is 50%, and the area affected by the forest fire is estimated to be 238ha.



The forestry authorities mobilized 39 helicopters, etc., to extinguish the fire today, but explained that they are having difficulty in extinguishing due to strong winds of up to 10 m/s and rough terrain.
