At around 11 am today, a fire broke out in a mountain in Seosan, South Chungcheong Province.
When the fire spread with the instantaneous wind speed of 15 m/s, the forest authorities issued a 'second stage of the forest fire' around 1 pm.
There were no casualties, but five houses and 39 ha of forest were burned.
Forest officials said they plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire, saying that the fire appears to have spread while burning garbage in a private house.

At around 1:30 pm today, a fire broke out in the mountain behind the rest area in Cheongyang, Chungcheongnam-do.
131 firefighters and 4 helicopters were put in, and the fire was extinguished in 2 hours and 30 minutes.

The forestry authorities said today that a forest fire occurred in 19 places, including Seosan and Cheongyang, Namyangju, Yeoncheon-gun, and Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do.
