A worker from a subcontractor in his 60s died at a construction site in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do.
It is presumed that he had an accident with an excavator while acting as a signalman, and the authorities are also investigating whether the Serious Accident Punishment Act applies.

is a construction site in Gwacheon Knowledge Information Town, Gyeonggi-do.
Construction company DLC is building a knowledge industry center with a total area of 3,000 pyeong, with 6 floors above ground and 3 floors below ground.
It was around 6 am today that Mr. Kim, a man in his 60s, a worker belonging to a subcontractor, suffered an accident.
This is the site of the accident.
Kim died after being caught between an excavator and a steel column while acting as a signal.
It is presumed that the excavator did not see Kim while the excavator was digging up the soil around the column.
Paramedics took Kim, who was bleeding and collapsed, to a nearby hospital, but he died.

At the time of the accident, there was a safety manager at the scene, and Mr. Kim was wearing a hard hat and safety vest.
DLC said, "We will do our best to solve the accident by cooperating with the police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor investigation."
At the site where the accident occurred, the construction cost exceeded KRW 5 billion, and both the main contractor and subcontractors are subject to the Act on the Punishment of Serious Accidents.
On the 13th of last month, a worker belonging to a subcontractor died at the construction site of the metropolitan area express train conducted by DLC.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor, which ordered the suspension of work, is investigating whether there is a violation of the Serious Accident Punishment Act.
