The police raided the Gyeonggi Provincial Office in connection with the allegation that Kim Hye-kyung, wife of former Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung, misappropriated a Gyeonggi corporate card.

Seongnam Mayor Eun Su-mi, who is suspected of illegal hiring, was also summoned for investigation.

It seems that the police are speeding up investigations related to politics, which were cautious ahead of the presidential election.

The search and seizure by the police was conducted for over 10 hours targeting the general affairs department and medical office of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office.

In particular, the police focused on securing data on allegations of personal misappropriation of corporate cards by former Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung, wife Kim Hye-kyung, and of receiving prescriptions for medicines in someone else's name.

This forced investigation was carried out ten days after Gyeonggi Province filed a complaint with the police against Bae, a former grade 5 civil servant who accompanied Kim.

Bae is currently in contact with the police, but it has been confirmed that an official investigation has not been conducted yet.

Mr. A, who reported Kim Hye-kyung's private protocol for mobilizing public officials and the misappropriation of her corporate card, said in a phone call with SBS that "I am watching the investigation as a citizen."

In the midst of this, the police summoned and investigated Seongnam Mayor Eun Su-mi as a suspect, who is being accused of 'illegal recruitment'.

Mayor Eun is suspected of hiring seven officials from the election camp at the time of the last local election without going through formal procedures at the Seohyeon Library, an institution affiliated with Seongnam City.
