It is presumed that an explosion of unknown cause occurred while Mr. A was using gas to cut the steel plate.

[Choi Ki-cheol / Deputy Manager of Hyundai Heavy Industries Labor Union: If (the hose) is torn, gas leaks.

I had to check something like that, but again today, when I went to the site and checked it, a torn part was found in the gas hose.]

The management said, "It's unfortunate that an accident like this happened while we were trying to prevent a serious disaster." We will do our best to come up with measures to prevent recurrence.”

The police and Busan Employment and Labor Administration are investigating whether the employer has violated the Act on the Punishment of Serious Accidents, such as whether the employer has complied with safety obligations.

Earlier, on the 31st of last month, there was an accident in which a worker in his 50s who was using the same type of cutter was burned.

While the Ministry of Employment and Labor has issued an order to suspend the workplace, the union is urging it to expand to all workplaces.
