Recently, in Suraksan Mountain, we reported exclusively that the large stones on the top of the mountain are continuing to disappear.

The police, who started the investigation, arrested a man in his 20s, a likely suspect, and stated that he pushed a stone and dropped it to relieve stress.

Reporter Park Se-won reported.

It is estimated that the summit stone of Suraksan started disappearing from last January.

When SBS reporters climbed the mountain directly on the 18th, only the traces of the Dojeongbong Monument of Suraksan Mountain remained, and the Jeongsangseok Stone at the main peak disappeared.

[Namyangju City Hall official (Suraksan Jubong manager, last March 18): There are a few broken pieces next to this, and I think someone intentionally broke it.

It seems that it was intentionally damaged with a hammer or something.]

Afterwards, even the summit stone in the nearby Mt. Bulam disappeared, and only five damaged tombstones are identified.

Earlier, there was a case where all six safety ropes on the famous 'Train Rock' in Suraksan were cut off.

Police believe it was the same person and launched an investigation.

After conducting an investigation by asking hikers to report any suspicious people, they saw A, a 20-year-old college freshman, as a strong suspect and caught him.

[Police official: (in front of Jung Sang-seok) I usually take pictures or touch them once, but there are strange people who keep on touching them or hugging them.

Such a report...

.]

Mr. A, who denied the allegations, eventually confessed that he did it.

The reason I told the police was to relieve stress.

He said that at first he climbed the mountain to relieve stress, but when he pushed the top stone down, it seemed to relieve the stress even more.

It is known that Mr. A later came up with a crowbar and damaged the top seat, and stated that he cut the train rock safety ropes one by one with a saw.

The police decided to apply the charge of damage to special property to Mr. A, and are investigating the exact method and motive of the crime.
