China News Service, Beijing, March 25. Beijing Hyundai, which has received a capital increase of 6 billion yuan from both shareholders, will fully promote the reform plan and strive to achieve a sales target of 520,000 vehicles by 2025.

Shareholders jointly increase capital of 6 billion yuan

On March 18, two shareholders, BAIC Investment and Hyundai Motor, jointly increased capital to Beijing Hyundai.

According to the announcement of BAIC Motor, this capital increase is divided into two stages. Before June 30, 2022, both shareholders will pay 50% of the capital increase amount, and the remaining capital increase amount will be paid before December 31, 2022.

After the completion of this capital increase, the shareholding ratio of the two shareholders of BAIC and Hyundai Motor will remain unchanged, each still accounting for 50%.

Since its establishment in 2002, Beijing Hyundai once created a sales myth with "Hyundai Speed". With the vigorous development of China's auto market, Beijing Hyundai ranked fourth in the annual sales list with a single brand at its most brilliant.

However, in recent years, the share of Korean cars in the Chinese market has been shrinking, and the sales performance of Beijing Hyundai has not been satisfactory.

2022 coincides with the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Beijing Hyundai, and the capital increase of 6 billion at this important time point is a long time for Beijing Hyundai. Solid confidence also marks a high degree of affirmation for the development of China's auto industry.

It is imperative to deploy new energy

This capital increase will provide financial support for Beijing Hyundai's future layout in the new energy field while improving the operation of the company.

The strategic goals of "carbon neutrality" and "carbon peak" have pointed out the direction for the development of China's auto industry. It has become an indisputable fact that new energy vehicles are an alternative to fuel vehicles, and the new energy vehicle market has also become the focus of major auto companies. area of strength.

From European car brands headed by Volkswagen to Japanese brands such as Toyota and Honda, all of them have shown their determination to overweight new energy products and deepen their electrification layout.

From the announcement of the HSMART+ brand strategy at the 2019 Guangzhou Auto Show to the simultaneous introduction of the Tucson L hybrid model, Beijing Hyundai's determination to deploy new energy can be seen.

Although Beijing Hyundai is not a "newcomer" in the new energy field, its brand-new Sonata plug-in hybrid, Mingtu pure electric, Festa pure electric and other models are not well recognized in the Chinese market. Beijing Hyundai is also constantly trying to explore new ways.

According to the plan, Beijing Hyundai will gradually realize the full application of 48V mild hybrid and full hybrid in C-class models and SUV models.

Secondly, starting from 2023, Beijing Hyundai plans to launch two exclusive EV models in China to strengthen the electric vehicle product line and build the foundation for future new energy business.

In addition, with the gradual maturity of the IONIQ brand, Beijing Hyundai will, with the support of both shareholders, strengthen the continuous introduction of Hyundai's global new energy products and accelerate the introduction of IONIQ models.

In the future, in terms of the overall product layout of fuel vehicles and new energy vehicles, Beijing Hyundai will meet the requirements of the national industrial policy, and strive to achieve and maintain a new layout of 20% pure electric vehicles.

Today, the electrification transformation is a last-ditch battle for Beijing Hyundai. The increasingly mature new energy vehicle market has no time for Beijing Hyundai to "test the water". At this time, Beijing Hyundai needs to show its strength and sincerity to create products that satisfy Chinese consumers. It is the only shortcut to avoid detours and drive straight ahead.

Stable annual sales and expand export

It is reported that with the opportunity of this capital increase, Beijing Hyundai will officially start a new strategic planning journey. The plan will focus on building a stable annual production and sales volume system of more than 500,000 units, and strive to achieve sales of more than 360,000 units in 2022 and 2025. Achieve the sales target of 520,000 units.

At the same time, Beijing Hyundai will launch a streamlined product layout including four sedans, four SUVs, and two electric vehicles. The focus of the product system will gradually shift from fuel vehicles to new energy vehicles, of which two exclusive pure electric models will be launched as early as next year. Launched in China.

In addition, Beijing Hyundai will also increase its export efforts, and will form an export scale of 100,000 vehicles in the future, of which Kusitu will be sold to the Taiwan market.

This capital increase by both shareholders is expected to become a new driving force for Beijing Hyundai. Based on the introduction of Hyundai’s world-leading technology and the global layout of new energy, Beijing Hyundai may be able to make efforts in the later stage to recover the decline and regain its strength and usher in the future. A bright future for good development.
