TikTok has a new face in France.

Marlène Masure, former director of partnerships and business development for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Organizing Committee, joined the social network on Monday as director of operations for France and Benelux.

"Based in Paris" and "directly attached to Rich Waterworth, director of TikTok Europe", Marlène Masure will be responsible for "developing the strategy" of the platform on "these markets to identify, and develop, our large community of users. , creators, artists and partners,” according to a statement from TikTok.

Jobs at Disney and Electronic Arts

Marlène Masure, whose departure from Paris 2024 was announced last month, had previously worked for a dozen years at Disney France, notably as vice-president of marketing from 2015 to 2019, and more than four years at the game publisher Electronic Arts video.

TikTok, a subsidiary of the Chinese company ByteDance, had an average of more than 8 million daily users in January in France, according to Médiamétrie, ahead of Twitter (5.3 million) but far behind Facebook (29 million), Snapchat (18 million ) and Instagram (15.9 million).
