A man in his 20s who was handed over to trial for assaulting a fire station paramedic who was helping him has been sentenced to a fine.

According to the legal community on the 21st, Detective 9 of the Uijeongbu District Court (Judge Lee Jae-wook) sentenced a 20-year-old man accused of violating the 119 Rescue and First Aid Act a fine of 5 million won.

A is accused of assaulting a fire station paramedic B in the 119 ambulance that stopped in front of the emergency room of a hospital in Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do in September last year.

At that time, Mr. A injured his ankle and was taken to the 119 ambulance team, but in the ambulance, he suddenly said 'I feel bad' and grabbed Paramedic B by the neck and assaulted him in the face.

It was confirmed that paramedic B, who was assaulted, helped transport the injured person to the hospital.

The court pointed out, "The self-esteem and motivation of paramedics who are in charge of important tasks such as transporting emergency patients will be lowered, and if these actions are repeated or neglected, it is highly likely to adversely affect the safety of society as a whole."

However, he clarified the reason for the sentencing and sentenced him to a fine, explaining the reason for the sentencing, saying, "The sentence was decided based on the fact that the accused admitted his mistake and was reflecting on it, and that he appeared to have committed the crime accidentally."
