A man in his 50s has been caught by the police after setting fire to his clothes in a running Seoul Subway Line 1 train.



The Seoul Regional Railway Police Department is investigating a 50-year-old man A, who set fire to his pants while on a train passing near Gaebong Station in Guro-gu, Seoul yesterday (18th) on charges of attempted arson.



The Seoul Guro Police Station was dispatched to the scene at around 10:24 pm the day before after receiving a report from a citizen saying, "A man is trying to commit suicide while setting his pants on fire."



It is said that the man was stopped by local citizens and handed over to the police.



Fortunately, there were no casualties, and it was determined that pieces of burnt trousers fell and some soot was formed on the subway floor.



A police official said, "After completing the first investigation the day before, there was no intention of arson, and it appears that the crime was accidental.
