Two months after the Hwajeong I-Park collapse, the Gwangju District Prosecutor's Office requested an arrest warrant for five people related to Hyundai Industrial Development on charges of negligent manslaughter and violation of the Building Act.
The persons for whom the warrant has been requested are the site manager who was designated as responsible for the collapse, and those in charge of safety management of Hyundai Industrial Development, including those in charge of construction and quality.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor also applied for an arrest warrant along with the police against the on-site director for violating the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
It is known that the authorities will soon request additional arrest warrants for subcontractor officials and supervisors.
