A fire broke out on the roof of the 38-story hotel building, the highest in Jeju, and the people inside were evacuated.
No one was injured, but guests say there were no emergency bells or announcements at the time of the fire.

The fire broke out on the roof of the 38th floor of this hotel, the tallest hotel in Jeju, at 2:57 pm today.
The fire department issued the first level of response and mobilized 44 fire and police personnel and 14 equipment to extinguish the fire.

One cooling tower and 5 pyong rooftops were destroyed by this fire, but it did not cause major damage as smoke did not flow into the room.
Hotel guests who were evacuated to the first floor claimed that they did not hear any emergency bells or evacuation announcements.

The fire department plans to conduct a joint investigation with the National Forensic Service and the police to determine the exact cause of the fire.
