A man in his 20s has been arrested by the police after breaking into a gold exchange on the roof railing and stealing money worth 300 million won.



The Jongno Police Station arrested a man in his 20s at the parking lot of Central City in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul around 4:00 pm on the 12th for special theft.



Person A is accused of stealing 4 kg of gold from the office of the gold exchange in Donui-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul around 11:50 pm on the 9th.



Person A climbed up to the roof of the 10-story building through the auxiliary entrance, climbed the external railing, ripped off the office window on the 9th floor with a crowbar, and then broke in.



The police, who arrived after receiving the report, tracked down A through CCTV analysis and arrested him within 3 days.



As a result of the police investigation, it was confirmed that Mr. A sold some of the stolen money to pay off his debts and bought a foreign car and luxury bag with the remaining money.



The police have recovered 1.4 kg of gold, 24 million won in cash, and the vehicle and goods that Mr. A bought.



It is said that Mr. A committed a crime after watching the movie 'The Thieves' during the police investigation, and said that he decided to commit the crime after getting information about the gold exchange through a TV program.



The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for Mr. A and continue the investigation of the damage and money and other crimes.
