Uljin, Gyeongbuk and Samcheok, Gangwon, recorded as the longest wildfires in history, have been extinguished with great damage.



It has been 213 hours and 43 minutes since the wildfire started at 11:17 am on the 4th.



Choi Byeong-am, head of the Korea Forest Service, said, "The main fire of the Uljin forest fire has been extinguished" at the forest fire site in Uljin-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, at 9:00 am today (13th). It has been identified as a damaged area,” he said.



The main light has been turned off, but there is still a fire, so it will take more time to fully extinguish.



A total of 643 places including 319 houses, 139 livestock and livestock facilities, 154 factories and warehouses, and 31 religious facilities were burned in the fire, but fortunately there were no casualties.



However, as the forest fire continued for the longest time in history, the area damaged by the forest was 29,23 hectares, the size of 29,304 soccer fields.



It is the largest ever recorded when including 4,000 hectares of fire damage in Uljin and Samcheok, as well as in Gangneung and East Sea during the same period.
