The high-ranking public officials' crime investigation agency and the public transport agency exercised their right to prosecute for the first time in a year and two months after their inception.

The Ministry of Airborne Affairs has handed over former chief prosecutor Kim Hyung-jun, so-called 'sponsor prosecutor', to trial on the charge of receiving 10 million won worth of money from the suspect under investigation.

This is the first time that an agency other than the prosecution has filed a prosecution, and it means that it has broken the prosecution's monopoly on prosecution for 70 years since the enactment of the Prosecutor's Office Act in 1948.
