Volkswagen introduces a new electric minivan

German auto giant Volkswagen has unveiled the ID Bose electric minivan, as it bets on its iconic microbus to go after the world's largest electric car maker, Tesla.

Volkswagen offers the electric ID Bose in two classes, a passenger class and a freight class.

According to the AutoResent website, which specializes in car issues, Volkswagen plans to put the ID Bose and ID Bose Cargo on sale in European markets next fall.

It also plans to launch a modified version with a longer wheelbase for the US market, to open the door for reservations in this market within 12 months, with delivery beginning in early 2024.

The European versions will be equipped with a 77 kWh battery to drive a 150 kW electric motor located on the rear axle of the car.

From a technical point of view, the design of the ID Bose electric minibus is based on the intersection with the basic design of electric cars of the Volkswagen Group known as "MEB".

The ID Bose bus can carry up to 5 passengers, with a capacity of 6 or 7 seats, with an extended wheelbase model.

The car also has two sliding doors in both directions.
