A man in his 50s was arrested by the police after he put up a placard in front of a girls' high school in Daegu saying, 'I am looking for a woman who will give birth to a child and make a living'.

The Daegu Seongse Police Station announced yesterday (9th) that it had booked 59-year-old A without detention on charges of violating the Outdoor Advertising Act.

At about 3 pm on the 8th, International Women's Day, Mr. A said to his truck parked in front of a girls' high school in Dalseo-gu, Daegu, "I'm looking for a 13-20-year-old woman who will live alone and give birth to a child in her 60s.

He is accused of putting up a banner with the phrase 'Come in this vehicle'.

Under the banner was also written a phone number believed to be Mr. A's contact information.

After receiving the report, the police rushed to the scene and warned Mr. A, but Mr. A moved the truck from the school's front door to the back door and was arrested as a current criminal.

A is said to have protested to the police, saying, "If the female parents consent, it is not a crime."

A police official said, "We are considering applying additional charges to Mr. A, such as violating the Child and Youth Protection Act."

Under the current law, an adult 19 years of age or older who has had sex with a minor under the age of 16 is subject to the crime of consensual rape of a minor, with or without consent.

According to Article 305 (3) of the Criminal Code, a person who prepares or conspires for the purpose of committing this crime shall also be punished by imprisonment for not more than three years.
