I am standing in front of the Shillabi Memorial Hall in Uljin, where the command headquarters for this wildfire is located.

Forestry authorities are still working on extinguishing the fire.

About 1,300 firefighters and fire trucks were deployed throughout the night to prevent the flames from spreading to private houses.

If the wind blows inland, the fire could spread to pine forests or private houses at any time, so we could not let go of the tension for even a moment.

The forestry authorities are planning to send 76 helicopters to speed up the evolution from a short time after sunrise.

As a result of the firefighting work that continued yesterday, the evolution rate in Uljin has risen to 65%.

Geumgangpine, one of the major forest resources as it is several hundred years old, was once in danger.

The fire took the east wind at 10 am yesterday (the 8th) and crossed the boundary line of the colony for about 100m, and some pine trees were burned.

The authorities immediately put out two super-helicopters and crew to put out the fire, but it was explained that the damage was not great as it was far from the core area where the old pine trees were dense.

The forest fires in Gangneung and the East Sea were caught at around 7:00 PM yesterday evening, 90 hours after they occurred, and it is known that 4,000ha of forest was burned down by this fire.
