The outline of the 20th presidential election-elect to be held today (9th) is expected to come out early in the morning tomorrow, past midnight.

According to the National Election Commission, on the day of the election, 14,464 polling stations across the country will transfer the ballot boxes to the polling stations after 7:30 pm, the official end time of voting for those who are confirmed or quarantined with COVID-19.

Advance ballot boxes and mail-in ballot boxes stored in each level of the National Election Commission will also be moved to the voting booth.

Considering the travel time, the National Election Commission predicted that the counting would start around 8:10 pm at some of the 251 polling stations across the country.

At the polling station, ballots are counted by classifying them into non-enveloped ballots and those with envelopes.

Ballots without envelopes are conducted in the order of pre-voting in the district and then main voting.

The NEC predicts that the results of the first counting of the preliminary ballot boxes in the district will be announced at 9 pm.

Counting of ballots for overseas citizens, shipboards, and residences overseas, where the return envelope must be opened and ballots must be taken out, will be counted in a separate area.

If these procedures go smoothly, the government's forecast is that the outline of the elected person will be revealed around 1 am tomorrow.

As the Democratic Party's Lee Jae-myung and People's Power Yoon Seok-yeol are fighting more closely than ever before in any other election, the possibility that their outlines will be revealed later cannot be ruled out.

It is a guiding variable where the early voting votes are headed for the last 4-5 days, when the turnout reached an all-time high of 36.93%.

As the number of confirmed cases of Omicron mutation is increasing, polling places in some densely populated areas may delay the end of voting for general voters, and related procedures may be delayed one after another if confirmed and quarantined people gather.
