An official from the Gyeonggi Election Commission said, "The election clerk mistook the previously completed ballot into a ballot box and handed out a carrying bag containing the ballot to two voters. Because it was after I voted on the paper, my right to vote was not infringed,” he explained.
"The question is whether the freedom of secrecy has been violated because the marked ballots were opened," he said.
As the pre-voting for confirmed and quarantined people was engulfed in controversy due to insufficient preparation, the National Election Commission changed the voting method to directly put ballots in the ballot box for confirmed and quarantined people in the main voting on the day of the election.
Voting time for confirmed and quarantined people on Election Day is from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, when general voting ends.
