Firefighters working to support large-scale wildfires in Uljin, Gyeongbuk and Samcheok, Gangwon Province, were found dead at their homes.



According to the Chungnam Fire Department, on the morning of the 6th, a 48-year-old man from the headquarters' rescue and rescue team was found dead at his home in Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do.



Mr. A was after completing the task of deploying or supporting the manpower and equipment of the fire department belonging to the Chungnam Fire Department to the scene of the wildfire for five days until the previous weekend.



An official from the Chungnam Fire Department said, "Recently, as employees have been working from home due to COVID-19, etc., there is a shortage of on-site manpower, so we have been supporting forest fires."



The bereaved family believes that it is highly likely that Mr. A suffered from a lot of work and died from overwork due to the accumulation of fatigue due to the recent continuous emergency work.



The police will request the National Institute of Scientific Investigation to investigate the exact cause of death of Mr. A through an autopsy today (8th).
