According to the Ministry of Education, a total of 174,603 elementary, middle, and high school students across the country were confirmed with Corona 19 for six days from the 2nd to the 7th.

More than half of the 320,000 confirmed students last year were confirmed within just six days of the start of the new semester.



By school level, elementary school students had the highest number of confirmed cases with an average of 15,000 per day, followed by 6,200 middle school students, 6,100 high school students, and 1,400 kindergarteners.




By region, Gyeonggi Province had the highest number of student confirmed cases with an average of 18,900 per day, and Sejong had the lowest with 603.



During the same period, there were 14,455 confirmed cases of faculty and staff, an average of 2,409 per day.



As many confirmed cases of not only students but also faculty and staff occurred, each school is having a hard time finding substitute teachers.



As of yesterday (the 7th), out of 2311 schools nationwide, 17,800 schools, or 88.1%, showed a slight decrease from 18,200 schools and 89.7% on the 2nd.




9.6% of schools with partial attendance yesterday, 1.6% of schools with full distance learning, and 0.6% of schools with vacations or discretionary closures.



By school level, 95% of all kindergartens, 83% of elementary schools, 81% of middle schools, and 82% of high schools had full attendance.



Yesterday, out of a total of 5,892,000 students from elementary, elementary, middle, high, and special schools nationwide, 81.9%, or 4,823,000, were counted.



89.4% of students participated in the student survey of the health status self-diagnosis app, of which 268,000, or 4.6%, were notified of school suspension.
