The fire department built a stop line, but strong winds blew the flames, and strong winds blew through the night, and the flames spread here and there.



The forestry and fire departments announced today (6th) that they would intensively invest firefighters and helicopters to catch the main fire.

A strong wind blew in the direction of private houses overnight, and the flames continued to spread in the directions of Sinheung-dong and Bicheon-dong in Donghae.



In Mangsang-dong, Donghae, the fire approaches to the entrance of the village, and we are concentrating on building a defense line.



The fire in the East Sea has spread to the city center and caused great damage.



To prevent the wildfire, close to 2,000 people and five firefighting helicopters were put in a day yesterday, but 31 buildings were left in ashes as they could not stop the spread to private houses.



Donghae City has designated Mangsang-dong, Balhan-dong, and Mukho-dong as evacuation areas for residents and hastily issued an evacuation order.



About 560 evacuated residents are currently distributed in six temporary shelters.

The forestry and fire department plan to put out equipment and manpower, including 30 firefighting helicopters and 30 military units, to put out a big fire today in the East Sea and Gangneung.
