Apple continues to move forward in terms of the repairability of its devices.

Long accused of not allowing repairs to its smartphones, Apple continues to gradually open up to repairers.

Indeed, in recent years, the Cupertino company has made great efforts to make it easier for its users to repair a damaged product.

Apple plans to announce a new measure that should make these repairs even easier.

Indeed, Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers will soon be able to fix Face ID.

Whether on the iPhone XS or newer models, and without having to replace the entire device, according to an internal memo obtained by

MacRumors

.

Access to the Face ID module

"Authorized Technicians" would soon have access to replacement components to replace the front-facing camera as well as the components needed to make Face ID work.

A tool would also be available to know if this replacement should be done.

The company's goal would be to limit the number of complete replacements, since it will still be possible to replace defective components if there is a problem with Face ID.

For customers, Face ID module repairs could be more affordable than replacing the entire unit.

Currently, we do not yet know the rates applied or the practical terms of these repairs.

Apple has simply stated that related documentation and training will be available at a later date.
