A man in his 70s, who used to be a miner, was arrested after about two hours after he had a confrontation with the police by using dynamite to blow up the building where the Miners Association was located.



The Seocho Police Station in Seoul received a report of threats from a miner in his 70s at around 9:10 am today, saying, "I have prepared (dynamite) to blow up the Federation."



It is known that Mr. A was injured during his time as a miner and had trouble making a living, and he talked to the community center and the police, but no one listened.



The police, who installed a control line at the scene and tried to talk with Mr. A, dispatched a police special force around 11:04 am and arrested Mr. A, who was on the 5th floor of the building.



It was found that there was no significant resistance during the arrest process.




The police who arrested Mr. A sent a detection dog to search the building for explosives, and it was confirmed that no explosives were found.



A police official said, "A was arrested on charges of intimidation, and we plan to conduct an investigation to find out the exact motive."
