To date, more than 56,000 residents in North Korea have been tested for COVID-19, but there are still no reports of confirmed cases.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) statistics, until the 17th of last month, a total of 56,227 North Koreans had been tested for COVID-19 infection, and none of them were confirmed.

It was reported that 110 of the 1,300 people tested on the 11th and 17th of last month had flu-like symptoms or had a severe acute respiratory infection.

WHO's statistics are based on reports from the North Korean authorities, and North Korea has been notifying the WHO that there are no confirmed cases since the outbreak of COVID-19.

In addition, North Korea has not yet accepted the international community's support for a COVID-19 vaccine.

The international vaccine supply project 'Kovax Facility' allocated a total of 8.11 million doses of AstraZeneca (AZ) to North Korea last year, but North Korea did not accept it due to issues with the type and quantity of vaccine.

It is reported that North Korea has not revealed its intention to accept the 252,000 doses of vaccine for Novavax, a US pharmaceutical company, newly allocated by COVAX this year.
