A Lamborghini torn to pieces after an explosion has become a work of art, sold as non-fungible tokens (NFTs),

Phonandroid

reports on Monday.

We owe this initiative to an artist named Shl0ms.

In order to denounce the abuses of the cryptocurrency sector, he decided to blow up a Lamborghini in a desert located in the United States.

He posted the video on social media.

The Lamborghini is “a pretty powerful representation of people getting into crypto.

It's the way for them to make money on the backs of other people, as quickly as possible”, specifies the artist.

The luxury model, which has been reduced to ashes, is estimated at 220,000 euros.

For this event, the artist surrounded himself with a hundred people and a fireworks engineer.

No less than 888 NFTs put up for sale

The car did indeed explode into more than a thousand pieces.

But the remains of the vehicle were not thrown away.

On the contrary.

Thanks to blockchain technology, the artist decided to convert them… into NFT.

Because Shl0ms claims not to be strongly opposed to non-fungible tokens.

“This technology is incredibly promising, but we're doing a lot of terrible things with it,” he explains.

In total, the collection of Shl0ms includes 999 NFTs.

No less than 888 of them were to be put on sale on Monday.

But the sale of these certified digital assets was ultimately postponed due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as the site of the sale specifies.

The artist should use the funds collected to create a DAO (a decentralized autonomous organization) which allows a community of Internet users to work for a specific purpose.
