A mother and daughter were sentenced to prison in the first trial on the charge of claiming to have received more than 200 million won in insurance money by pretending to be a paralyzed patient for 10 years.



The Seoul Central District Court sentenced the late mother and daughter to three years in prison each, who were charged with her fraud and other charges.



Her daughter, Jeong, complained of her quadriplegia since 2011 after a minor car accident in 2007, and faked the symptoms for about 10 years. I made an insurance claim and got the money.



In this way, she took over 210 million won from three insurance companies.



She said she was hospitalized for three years, starting in 2014, but she was found out by her nurses and kicked out while she bathed or wandered around alone at night.



According to her investigation, she said that after her car accident, she said she had syringomyelia, but she was mild and had no problems with her mobility.



Her mother and daughter were actually paralyzed at her trial and she had only recently improved, she denied the charges, but she was not accepted.
