Today (24th) around 11:32 am, a fire broke out in the basement of the parking lot of Incheon International Airport Terminal 2 and was extinguished in 50 minutes.

Three airport staff were injured in the fire, including smoke inhalation, but symptoms were said to be mild.

After receiving the report, the fire department dispatched equipment and crew, including a command vehicle, to put out all the fires around 12:24 pm that day.

The fire department is investigating the exact cause of the fire and property damage, believing that the fire occurred at the construction site of the screening clinic that was being built on the second basement floor of the building.

An official from the fire department said, "It has been determined that there were no citizens being tested because the clinic is currently under construction."

Incheon International Airport Corporation said, "The airport fire brigade immediately dispatched the fire and extinguished the fire.

In addition, for safety check, one flight departing from Terminal 2 was delayed until 6 pm, and flights arriving at the airport were placed on board while the smoke was removed.

The 13 flights scheduled to arrive between 3 and 6 pm will be adjusted according to the on-site situation and consultation with the airline.
